Major changes expected in the stainless steel market over the next two years (photo report)

On April 10–11, the 11th international conference "Stainless Steel and the Russian Market" took place in St. Petersburg. The event was organized by the "Metal Supply & Sales" Magazine and brought together over 140 participants.

Parallel to the conference, a meeting of the Coordination Council of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade on metallurgy was held, focusing on the development of stainless steel production in Russia. The session gathered around 50 attendees, including executives from both manufacturing companies and enterprises that use stainless and corrosion-resistant steel products.

On April 11, conference participants visited the production site of the Petrostal Metallurgical Plant, JSC, where they observed ongoing modernization efforts and upgrades. Guests saw firsthand the new equipment, a site under construction for a future furnace, and products the plant has developed over the past two years.

Later, attendees toured the service metal center of UTK-Steel.

Overall, conference participants concluded that the stainless steel market is set to undergo significant transformations over the next two years. These changes will stem from the launch of new production facilities, as well as the expansion and modernization of existing ones.
