Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant focuses in the Russian market

Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (CZP) produced 125,609 tonnes of salable SHG zinc and zinc based alloys in 9M 2013, an increase of 3.5% as compared to 9M 2012 (121,335 tonnes). 65.9% of metal was supplied to the domestic market that coincides with the last year level.

CZP’s affiliated company, Nova Zinc LLC, operator of Akzhal zinc and lead ore mine in Kazakhstan, produced 25,403 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate in 9M 2013 that equals the last year volume (9M 2012: 25,075 tonnes). Lead in lead concentrate production increased by 21% to 3,543 tonnes (vs. 2,931 tonnes in 9M 2012).

CZP’s subsidiary, The Brock Metal Company Limited (the leading UK supplier of zinc die-casting alloys) sold 18,709 tonnes of zinc alloys in 9M 2013, a decrease by 6% as compared to 9M 2012 (19,883 tonnes).
