KUMW to launch new rolling complex

Kamensk-Uralsk Metallurgical Works builds a new aluminium rolling complex. 227 million dollars will be invested in the project this year.

At the end of the first phase of the project, cold rolling mill, coils annealing furnaces and cutting line will be launched in in May 2014. The second phase is scheduled installation and commissioning of the hot rolling mill and other equipment. It should be completed in 2016.

The new rolling complex can produce up to 166 thousand tons of aluminum flat rolled products annually.

The new rolling mill project is one of the largest in the Russian aluminum industry. Due to it Kamensk-Uralsk Metallurgical Works become the leading supplier of the aluminium semi-products for the world aviation industry.
