RUSAL hosts XXVII Metal Bulletin International Aluminium Conference in Moscow

RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium producer, has become the lead sponsor of the XXVII Metal Bulletin International Aluminium Conference, which will take place on 12-14 September 2012 in Moscow.

The Metal Bulletin Conference, the premier international aluminium event, is a leading platform for discussing and formulating strategies for the development of the industry globally. It is expected that this year’s forum will bring together more than 500 international aluminium industry executives, including representatives of Rio Tinto Alcan, Alcoa, Emirates Aluminium, Rexam Plc, AZ China, Abal, Hindalco and also the leading investment analysts in metals and mining.

Particular attention of the participants of Metal Bulletin-2012 will be given to the development of the global aluminium industry under the current conditions of macroeconomic instability as well as the need to develop producer strategies in the face of rising costs and decreasing prices for the metal. The agenda also includes global economic turbulence and its impact on consumption as well as the development of technology and innovation as tools for success.

In 2012, the conference is taking place in Russia, the home of RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium producer. The conference will be opened by Oleg Deripaska, CEO of RUSAL. Further speakers from RUSAL on topical issues will be Vladislav Soloviev, First Deputy CEO of RUSAL, Sergey Belsky, Director of Russia and CIS Sales, Steve Hodgson, Director of International Sales and Oleg Mukhamedshin, Director of Equity and Strategic Development. Among topics included in the panel discussions are: “Are smelter projects and lead times in sync with demand growth projections?” (Vladislav Soloviev), “Factors affecting the demand outlook for aluminium” (Steve Hodgson), “Refining and smelting capacity in China – will growth continue?” (Oleg Mukhamedshin), “The aluminum alloys industry in Russia: the situation today and post WTO entry” (Sergey Belsky).
