OMZ Specialsteel continues its works on Ledohod program

OMZ Specialsteel, part of OMZ Group, has developed a fundamental technological scheme for production of sheet metal from the newest high-alloyed cold-resistant arc-steels with yield strength 500, 620 and 690 MPas. The works were conducted under the contract with Central Research Institute of Structural Materials (CRISM) “Prometheus” to perform development activities in the frames of Ledohod project.

Under the supervision of OMZ Spetsstal specialists and CRISM “Prometheus” project team rolled metal sheets with 20-50 mm thickness, and is working out new heat treatment regimes for metal sheets.

Experimental design development Ledohod project is performed in the framework of Federal Target Program “Development of Civilian Marine Engineering” for 2009-2016. Flat-rolled products from high-strength cold-resistant welded arc steels are designed for the construction of marine equipment: floating drilling and self-propelled exploration and production platforms, vessels operating in ice conditions of Arctic seas, ice-resistant terminals and deep-sea submersibles.

OMZ Group is one of the leading heavy industry companies specializing in engineering, production, sales and service support of equipment for nuclear, oil and gas, mining industries, as well as special steel production and industrial services. OMZ Group’s facilities are located in Russia and Czech Republic. The Group is controlled by Gazprombank.
