OMZ Liteynoe proizvodstvo produces castings for Belarusian Autoworks

OMZ Liteynoe proizvodstvo, part of OMZ Group, produced pilot batch of castings for OJSC Belarusian Autoworks (BelAZ).

The long-term contract for the manufacture of castings for BelAZ, one of the world's largest heavy-duty dump trucks manufacturers, was signed in January this year.

Experimental batch of castings has been delivered to BelAZ in April 2012. The first batch of blank-castings has successfully passed the entrance control, as well as all the stages of mechanical treatment and received a positive opinion of the customer, which was the basis for signing of the contact, which presupposes serial production of these castings in volume of 340 tons. The batch of serial castings “flange” is already delivered to the customer. Also OMZ delivered experimental batch of castings called “bearing”, “hub” and “cage”.

The next stage of the contract with OJSC BelAZ presupposes manufacture and supply of castings with pre-machining.

The cooperation between Izhora founders with Belarusian automakers began in the 90s of last century, when Izhora specialists mastered and manufactured castings for vehicles operating in the Far North. Today, when BelAZ increases production volumes of heavy vehicles, cooperation is developing. OMZ Liteynoe proizvodstvo’s management together with Russian delegation headed by St. Petersburg’s Governor Georgiy Poltavchenko will visit Belarusain capital Minsk in May 2012 for participation in the meeting of St. Petersburg-Belarus Business Cooperation Council.
