Andrey Klishas appointed member of the Federation Council

MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter referred to as MMC Norilsk Nickel or the Company) informs that Andrey Klishas, President of the Company, turned in on March 19 a resignation request due to a transfer to another appointment. By the Order of the Governor of Krasnoyarsk Region, Andrey Klishas is appointed Member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Andrey Klishas was elected, in August 2010, President of OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel. Mr. Klishas was in charge of development and implementation of the Company’s corporate and legal strategy, legal support of MMC Norilsk Nickel activities, and improvement of corporate governance. Mr. Klishas was also member of the Board of Directors of the Company in 2001-2011.

Management of MMC Norilsk Nickel expresses gratitude to Andrey Klishas for his important contribution into development of the Company and wishes success in his ordeal.

Born in Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk) on November 9, 1972.

Education:

1990-1993 - Student in Urals State University, majored in history of philosophy.
1998 - Graduated as Bachelor of Legal Sciences from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
2000 – Graduated with honors as Master of Legal Sciences from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor. Chairman of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
Chief Researcher at the Institute for Social and Political Research of Russian Academy of Sciences.

In 2002 Mr. Klishas was granted professorship. Title of the thesis paper: “Amparo Procedure as Method of Constitutional Control in Mexico”.

In 2008 passed Ph.D. defense. Title of the thesis paper: “Constitutional Control and Constitutional Justice in Foreign Countries”.

Author of more than 35 scientific works relating to Constitutional Law.

Founder of Modern History Foundation.

1998-2010 – various offices in management bodies of major Russian industrial companies, investment companies and banks.

2001-2008 – Chairman of the Board of Directors, 2008-2011 – Member of the Board of Directors, OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel.
From 2010 – President of MMC Norilsk Nickel

March 2012 – elected Deputy of Norilsk City Council
