New furnace launched at OMZ-Special Steels

OMZ-Special Steels, part of OMZ Group, has launched the brand new heating furnace №31 of №47 fabrication department.

During the modernization automation of heating was carried out alongside replacement of the burners and application of new thermal insulation materials. As a result of modernization furnace productivity increased 20%, natural gas consumption was reduced 40% and accuracy of performance desired temperature increased.

Modernization of the furnace was held by CJSC SoyuzTeploStroy-St. Peterburg, CJSC Outpost-management was selected project manager. The total volume of investment constituted 84 million roubles.

Technical re-equipping of furnace №31 at OMZ-Special Steels was implemented within the framework of a comprehensive project of modernization of heating furnaces of №47 fabrication department. In 2010, in accordance with the project furnace №32 was upgraded. Currently the works are held at furnace №27. The company also plans to hold modernization of furnace №30. The modernization of furnaces is implemented to ensure the effectiveness of OMZ-Special Steels’s unique Automatic forging plants AKK-6000 ts and AKK -12 000 ts.
