The most powerful Russian excavator begins operations

Excavator EKG-32R, manufactured by IZ-KARTEKS (part of OMZ Group), has begun test operation on Krasnoborodsky coal mine, which belongs to Kuzbassrazrezugol, JSC.

Excavator EKG-32R with bucket capacity of 32 cubic meters and a working weight of 950 tons is the most powerful crowd power excavator, ever manufactured in USSR and Russia. It is the first Russian-manufactured electric excavator equipped with an alternating current electric drive. It is produced within the framework of an integrated product range renewal program involving deep modernization and upgrade of production capacities of the enterprise carried out with financial support from its strategic partner – Gazprombank, JSC.

According to the terms of contract, in 2011 Kuzbassrazrezugol, JSC has already received two excavators EKG-18R, manufactured by IZ-KARATEKS, LTD.

Successful development and manufacture of the new product range allows IZ-KARATEKS, LTD to strengthen its positions on the mining equipment market and position itself among the top three largest international manufacturers of electric mining shovels. Izhora-built equipment is operated at all large mines in Russia and in a number of mines abroad.
