Rusal signs MoU with Xinshan Aluminium Industry Demonstration Park

UC Rusal announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xinshan Aluminum Industry Demonstration Park, China’s largest organization responsible for the development of aluminium production in the country and supported by the Chinese Government. The MoU signed provides for cooperation in joint projects on bauxite mining and production of aluminium and alumina.

The signed MoU confirms the parties mutual interest in potential cooperation in the following areas: export of Rusal ’s technologies for production of aluminium and aluminium products with high added value to markets in China, engagement of Rusal as an engineering company for aluminium plant construction projects in the territory of Xinshan Aluminum Industry Demonstration Park, and realization of joint venture projects relating to the geological study and mining of bauxites and bauxite-alumina complex construction in the Asia-Pacific Region countries. Xinshan Aluminum Industry Demonstration Park’s demand for bauxites may reach 2 million tonnes per year.

Within two months from the date of signature of MoU, a working group will be established to analyze details of specific joint projects.

Partnership between Rusal and Xinshan Aluminum Industry Demonstration Park was supported by the government of the municipality of Baise and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region of the People’s Republic of China.
«With the unprecedented pace of urbanization, China is demonstrating a steady growth in demand for aluminium.
