Metalloinvest’s plants passed supervisory audit

Two subsidiaries of Metalloinvest Holding confirmed meeting the requirements of the international standards for quality management system and occupational health and safety management system.

Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant (Lebedinsky GOK) has successfully passed supervisory audit of its quality management system. It was held to assess the system’s conformance with the international standard ISO 9001:2008. Auditors of the British Standards Institute (BSI) were working at the plant in November 23-26, 2010. The main areas to check were production planning, geological solutions for ferruginous quartzite mining and transportation processes, as well as production of iron ore concentrates, pellets and hot-briquetted iron.

As a result of the assessment the auditors confirmed Lebedinsky GOK’s compliance to the ISO 9001:2008 quality management international standard and high level of production process management and quality of the plant’s products.

Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant (Mikhailovsky GOK) has proved its world-class occupational health and safety level.

The auditors of TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH (Germany) were making supervisory audit of the plant’s occupational health and safety management system in November 23 – 25, 2010. As a result of the assessment the auditors made positive opinion on occupational health and safety results. Also they noted high level of the plant’s specialists qualification and good level of business processes management.

It was the first supervisory audit since Mikhailovsky GOK won the OHSAS 18001:2007 certificate last year.
