New ferroalloy plant to be build in Russia
The authorities of the Irkutsk region have conducted negotiations with a delegation from Liaoning province, China on a joint Chinese-Russian project on building of a ferroalloy plant in Russia. On the first stage of the project the  capacity of the plant will reach 60kt/y. The Russian party at the negotiations held as part of the VI Baikal Economic Forum was headed by Dmitry Mezentsev, Governor of the Irkutsk region.

"Building new ferroalloy plant in the Irkutsk region is quite real, though Brotherly ferroalloy plant already functions (its owner is Mechel Group) in here. Probably, new plant will manufacture ferrosilicium because of there are some quartzites deposits in Irkutsk region", Leonid Khazanov, the observer of Metal Supply and Sale Magazine, said.
