Copper semi-products output in Russia increased record-breaking

Copper semis output in Russia grew in October, 2010 month-to-month. For example, copper wire production has grown by 1.2%, copper foil - by 10.5%, copper profiles and rods - by 17.9%. However, copper sheets, plates, strip output has dropped by 7.0%.

As compared to October, 2009 copper profiles and rods production has increased by 11.8%, sheets, plates, strips - 23.6% up, wire - 48.5% up, foil - 67.5% up.

«This dynamics reflects changes in Russian industry and in structure of demand for copper products,» Leonid Khazanov, Head of Non-Ferrous Metals Depatrment, Metal Supply and Sale Magazine, said.
