Freight One increases aluminium haulage by 17.4%
From January to October 2010, Freight One increased its haulage of aluminium from Krasnoyarsk and Sayanogorsk aluminium plants by 17.4% against the similar period last year.

Within 10 months of 2010 alone, Freight One has shipped over 600 thousand tonnes of aluminium to be delivered from these plants to ports of North-West, Far East and Azov and Black Sea regions.

Shipment growth is to a larger extent connected with Freight One using the technology of route-based railcar aluminium shipment from plants. The technology allows to simultaneously forward the train route of 64 — 65 Freight One railcars to consignees. As compared to carload consignment, the time required to transport aluminium is reduced twice.

Positive dynamics can also be seen in regional delivery of nepheline ore (processed in aluminous raw material, which is a component required to produce aluminium).

Within 10 months of 2010, nepheline ore freight traffic from Kia-Shaltyrsk mine (Kemerovo Region) to Achinsk Aluminium Refinery (Krasnoyarsk Territory) in Freight One railcars amounted to 2.07 million tonnes. In October 2010, ore freight traffic exceeded that of the last year by 14.5%.
