Yuzhny Kuzbass has increased production of coking coal by 78% since beginning of 2010

Yuzhny Kuzbass (part of Mechel Group) produced 11.7Mt of coal in January – October 2010 which is + 4.8Mt or 48% up as compared to the corresponding period of 2009 (7.9Mt) including 7Mt of coking coals which is 78% up as compared to the corresponding period of 2009 (3.Mt). The company produced 1.2Mt of coal in October 2010 including 635kt of coking coals.
The total volume of uncovering in 2010 also exceeds the corresponding period of 2009: during the first 10 months the company uncovered 61.4M cubic meters which ii almost 64% more compared to the corresponding period of 2009: 37.4M cubic meters.
