Freight One hauls ferrous metals from East to West

The first five railcars carrying sheet steel have been delivered by JSC Freight One from Zabaikalsk station to Moscow-Tovarnaya-Smolenskaya station. The shipment originated from China and was reloaded into Freight One railcars at the Russian border. Chinese metal is bought by domestic Russian construction enterprises and used to make roofing materials.

According to estimates by Freight One’s Forwarding Department, as of next year at least 1000 tonnes of sheet steel will be conveyed from China per month.

In light of the clear imbalance in haulage from West to East, cooperation with Chinese manufacturers is an important step in creating an optimal logistic scheme and ensuring the loading of railcars running from East to West.
