RUSAL’s shares rose by 11% for a week
During the week from September 13 to 17 RUSAL’s shares rose by 11% reaching 9.14 HKD. The price increase was caused, on the one hand, by strong financial H1 results that substantially exceeded analysts’ expectations, by positive analysts’ reports, RUSAL’s activities aimed at broadening the range of its investors and the decision to decrease the board lot size starting from 4 October, and on the other hand, by the favourable situation on the aluminium market that is characterized by the rising aluminium demand and prices of the metal.

Price change since RUSAL pricing (21.01.2010):
UC RUSAL (Hong Kong, HKD): -15.4%
Chalco: -25.2%
Alcoa: -21.0%
