Despite big projects some Russian and European tubular companies carry out now, in the nearest years the correlation of forces will not change. OMK leads in the market today with 2Mt/y, Europipe, Germany ranks 2d (1.81Mt/y), Khartsyzsk Pipe Works, Ukraine (1.7Mt/y) and ChTPZ Group, Russia, (reaching 1.7Mt/y after commissioning Vysota-239) rank 3d and 4th respectively, Volzhsky Pipe Plant (part of TMK Group), (1.25Mt/y) ranks 5th, Ilva, Italy (1.1Mt/y), ranks 6th, and Izhora Pipe Works (part of Severstal Group) (600kt of big diameter pipes /y) ranks 7th.

According to I. Kolomeets, OMK has become the leader in the big diameter pipes for main pipelines segment due to large investments in building of new production facilities and modernization of the already existing ones. The company has invested the total of more than 4bn USD in the modernization and reconstruction of facilities.
