Metalloinvest is increasing bridge steel supplies

«Urals Steel» metallurgical plant (a unit of Metalloinvest Holding) supplied 49,000 tons of special bridge steel between January and April, 2010 (150% of the 2009 level).

“In 2009, we had a share of about 75% of Russian bridge steel market,” said Andrey Prosyanik, sales director of Metalloinvest Managing Company. “It is important for us to take part in infrastructural projects — it helps us secure long-term contracts and develop special steel grades to satisfy every customer’s needs.”

«Urals Steel» monthly supply of bridge steel is currently 12,000-15,000 tons that are shipped to customers all over Russia: “Kurgansalmost”, “Ulan-Udestalmost”, bridge builders from Omsk, Vladivostok, Nizhniy Tagil, Chelyabinsk and other cities.

Exclusive steel grades developed by “Urals Steel” meet all the requirements of bridge builders and have earned numerous awards at international steel exhibitions. The reconstruction of the rolling mill 2800 in 2008-2009 gave a huge boost to production and quality.
