Russian Steel-Makers have Already Taken up Almost 1/3 of Export Quotas to EU

According to the statistical report of the European Commission Russian steel enterprisers supplied more than 1.01Mt of steel to EU in January – April 2010 having taken up 31.7% of the export quota set up by the EU. According to an agreement signed between the Russian Federation and the European Union on October 26, 2007 Russia supplied more than 2.31Mt of steel products in 2007 (the quota reached 2.904Mt) to the amount not exceeding 1.015bn EUR. In 2008 Russian export quotas were increased to the amount of 1.06bn EUR.
