Slovenian Steel Group has bought Niro Wenden German Steel Centre

Slovenian Steel Group, d. d., has bought Niro Wenden German Steel Centre After the successfully concluded investments in the production capacities, SIJ – Slovenian Steel Group, owned by the Russian IMH – Industrial Metallurgical Holding, continues investing in the development of EU and world markets. It focuses on purchasing steel centres and processing-sales centres, which are extremely significant for the development of steel industry, the industry's specialisation and competition capabilities. These centres enable the appropriate offer and fast supply of steels in the required dimensions and qualities, as well as by providing applicable mechanical and heat processing. Last year, Metal Ravne, a subsidiary company of SIJ – Slovenian Steel Group, became the 100 percent owner of Ravne Steel Centre. Recently, the Slovenian steel makers also bought the 85 percent share in Niro Wenden German Steel Centre which is located in Wenden near Duesseldorf. Last year, the Niro Wenden Steel Centre with 40 employees created EUR 11.3 million revenues, and EUR 23 million in 2008. On 15000 sqm, this steel centre storages approximately 2500 tons of stainless blanks, which are mechanically processed in accordance with the buyer’s requests, thus guaranteeing the final buyer higher quality support and fast supply. The Niro Wenden Steel Centre is specialised in processing and sale of stainless blanks. This means that with this investment the Acroni company from Jesenice, the subsidiary company of SIJ – Slovenian Steel Group, will acquire a strong support in its efforts for maintaining and increasing the market share on the German and neighbouring Benelux market.
