VSMPO-AVISMA has extended long-term supply agreement with Snecma

PSC “VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation” announced that it has extended the forging supply agreement with Snecma, a Safran group company, for another long-term period. The agreement, effective as of January 2010 provides for VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation to supply titanium forgings to Snecma for manufacturing CFM56* family engines.

PSC “VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation” will continue to be a major supplier of titanium products to Snecma and Safran group companies including Turbomeca, Messier-Dowty, Microturbo and Techspace Aero operating units.

PSC VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, headquartered in Verkhyna Salda, Sverdlosk Region of Russia, is the world’s largest producer of titanium products. Corporation is deeply integrated into the world aerospace industry and for many companies is the basic strategic supplier of products from the titanium. Production facilities comprising the Corporation are united by a single process flow and employ approximately 25,000 people globally. AVISMA’s sponge titanium is used at VSMPO in production of higher value-added products, such as billet, bar, plate, sheet, section, forging, die forging and etc. Up to 70% of such titanium products are exported. In addition to finished products sales, Corporation can also provide with some conversion and production services: cutting, heat-treatment, machining, etc.

Snecma is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aircraft and rocket engines, Snecma designs, develops, produces and markets, alone or in partnership, engines for civil and military airplanes, launch vehicles and satellites. Snecma also offers a complete range of engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to airlines, armed forces and operators.
