MMK continues building of out-of-furnace steel treatment complex

Round the clock building of out-of-furnace steel treatment complex, part of plates rolling complex continues in the oxygen-converter plant, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. At the end of January testing of furnace-ladle unit was performed. Now SMS-Mevac GmbH contract supervisors perform initial run and test the software.

Building and assembling have been almost completed at the vacuum plant. Its testing under the supervision of German specialists is planned for the second decade of February.

Final adjustment of the dynamic cooling and firing systems of the new continuous casting machine #6 commissioned at the end of 2009 continues. The new continuous casting machine #6 is used for casting of slabs, 250 and 300 mm thick for mill 5000.
