Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works has considerably expanded tubes output

Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works has reported 2009 production results including the period from August to December when the only steel works in Novosibirsk was taken over by Metallservis, one of the biggest metal and steel traders. In September tubes output grew more than 1.4 times, whereas in the 4th quarter the output grew more than 2.4 times as compared to the corresponding period 2008.

According to the press-service of the Works, by the beginning of autumn the situation became stable. Since September average monthly tubes output exceeded the results of 2008: 14.8 ths tons, (+ 43 % against 10.4 ths tons in September 2008). In the 4th quarter the trend despite of the slow market remained: welded tubes output reached around 40 ths tons, which is 2.4 times more as compared to the corresponding period 2008.

However the press-service of the works has admitted that in 2009 the total output dropped to 88.3 ths tons as compared to 2008 due to the global economic crisis.

According to the press-service of the Works by 1 July 2009 the range of products of the Works included 64 types of rolled products. In the period from July to December the Works production program of the Works extended almost more than 1.5 times due to mastering 26 more types of products including bent channels and hot rolled strips. In July – November 2009 Metallservis invested some 28 million rubles in modernization of the Works facilities.
