ChTPZ Group Ferrous Division Ships 1,895,000 Tonnes of Product to Customers in 2007
Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant (ChTPZ, Chelyabinsk, Russia) (RTS: CHEP) and Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ, Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region, Russia) (RTS: PNTZ), both in ChTPZ Group, shipped 1,895,000 tonnes of pipe products to customers in 2007, an increase of 10% as compared to 2006 (1,721,000 tonnes).

January through December of 2007, ChTPZ sold 1,049 thousand tonnes of pipes, 9% more than for the same period of 2006 (958,600 tonnes). The company shipped 593.4 thousand tonnes of large-diameter pipes, 16% more than for the twelve months a year ago (511,600 tonnes).

In December 2007, Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant shipped 75,300 tonnes of pipe products to customers, a decrease of 7% as compared to December 2006 (81,400 tonnes). For this period the plant shipped 47.1 thousand tonnes of large-diameter pipes, 2% less than for the same month a year ago (48 thousand tonnes).

In December 2007 PNTZ shipped 61 thousand tonnes of pipe products to its customers, a decrease of 0.5% as compared to December 2006 (61,300 tonnes). Since early 2007, the plant shipped 845,600 tonnes of products, 11% more than for the same period of 2006 (761.3 thousand tonnes).

The growth in shipping of pipe products by ChTPZ Group in 2007 was caused by growth in sales of major types of products, mostly in LDPs (participation in construction of ‘East Siberia – Pacific Ocean’ pipeline), tubing and seamless line pipes to the major regular customers – Gazprom, Transneft and vertically integrated oil companies.
