Lead Plant to be Built in Leningrad Region
A used batteries processing plant will be built in the Slantsevsk Settlement Industrial Zone, the Leningrad region. The plant will create up to 60 new jobs. The project at an investment of 700 mln rubles will be carried out by Ekorusmetall Ltd.

The used batteries scrap processing involves regeneration of pure lead based on Engitec Technlogies S.p.A. (Italy) technology having the slightest effect on the environmental and human health. The technology is considered to be the best among the ones used in countries applying BAT (Best Available Technology).

According to the project the plant will be built at a site of 3 hectare, and will be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2008. An annual production capacity will reach processing of 30 thou tons of car batteries and production of up to 17.5 thou tons of lead and lead alloys.

Slantsy has been chosen largely due to its good men power, technological and energy resources.
