High quality of OEMK’s steel for automotive industry is confirmed
The quality management sytstem at Oskol Electric Steelworks fully meets ISO/TS 16949:2002 standard, which was confirmed during a recertification audit which has been carried out. The certificate is a “must have” for any steel supplier to the international car industry.

OEMK, which clients include world’s leading car makers, got its certificate in 2004 from a recognized certification body TUV CERT.

This year the recertification which is to be updated once in 3 years was carried out by TUV International (Czechia).

“No divergencies have been discovered”, said the chief auditor Tomas Pallagy. “I’m impressed with the high performance of your workers. Their answers to my questions were precise and exact. We have examined almost each workshop of the core divisions, and we don’t have any claims in relation to the infrustructure”.

The high quality of steel produced by OEMK, proved with various certificates, including the ISO/TS 16949, made Oskol Electric Steelworks one of the major suppliers to the European car industry. Today, OEMK is the only Russian enterprise supplying long products to the largest automotive corporations, such as Ford, Volkswagen and General Motors.

OEMK started its export supplies in 1997, when Ford became its first international client. Currently, shippings to the international car producers exceed 160.000 tonnes of steel annually.

Among OEMK’s key clients on the local market are Avtovaz, Kamaz-Metallurgy, Minsk Motorcar Factory, GAZ, Ural Motorcar Factory, which consume 50.000 tpy of rolled stock produced by OEMK.
