Basic Element has acquired 3 percent of Hochtief AG

Basic Element, through its affiliate (Rasperia Trading Limited), has acquired 3 percent of publicly traded shares in Hochtief AG (Essen, Germany), repots press-center of Basic Element.

Hochtief is recognized as one of the truly global leaders in construction and construction-related services. It is a company with an excellent reputation in Russia and in Eastern Europe thanks to several of its well-known projects, including the refurbishment of the Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. This investment has a clear strategic rationale for Basic Element which is keen to develop a partnership with Hochtief in the areas of construction and airport management.

In April, Rasperia acquired a 30 percent strategic stake in STRABAG SE (Vienna), another leading European construction group with nearly 53,000 employees. The construction, infrastructure and development sectors are strategically important for Basic Element.  The company believes that cooperation with foreign partners will enable them to expand their presence in Russia’s fast growing market, and help Basic Element enhance its technological capabilities.
