Rusal to produce 1 mln Tones of Aluminium in Q1

United Company RUSAL has today announced production results for the Q1 of 2007  achieved by the combined facilities of RUSAL, SUAL and the alumina assets of Glencore. Aluminium production rose by 2.5% compared to the same period of last year and reached 999.4 thousand tones. Alumina production was flat, compared to the First Quarter of 2006, and equalled 2.740 mln tones. Bauxite production decreased by 8.6% and reached 4.127 mln tonnes, which is due to temporary mining shortages in Guinea and at the Middle Timan bauxite deposit in the Komi Republic.Value-added casthouse products manufacturing increased by 12.5% and amounted to 48,2% of primary aluminium production, foil production rose by 21.2%.
