ORMETO-YUMZ to Satisfy the Needs of an Indian Metallurgical Company in Rollers 80%

ORMETO-YUMZ has concluded a contract with the largest Indian steel maker Steel Authority of India (SAIL) on supplies of rollers for hot and cold rolling mills in the first half of 2007. According to Metalloinvest press service, the cost of the contract has amounted to $11,5 mln. ORMETO-YUMZ supplies will satisfy 80% of SAIL needs in roller products.

SAIL, a steel making company with a state share, makes up 1/3 of today’s Indian steel output. Before the end of 2007 ORMETO-YUMZ plans to receive orders for more than $27 mln.

In 1992 ORMETO-YUMZ supplied rollers to Indian state enterprises for the first time. Since then the enterprises has been increasing its share in supplies of steel rollers for SAIL, having increased it from 10-15% up to 60% in 2006. Measures aimed at increase of competitiveness of ORMETO-YUMZ products that were carried out during the last two years have enabled to increase the share of supplies up to 80% in 2007.
