The group of companies “Koks” has bought control share holding (55%) of Slovenska Industria Jekla

The group of companies “Koks”, incorporated in Industrial Metallurgical Holding has bought control share holding (55%) of Slovenska Industria Jekla (Slovenian Steel Group - SSG) at privatization tender in Slovenia. SSG incorporates 7 companies among which Acroni and Metal Ravne are considered the main. The revenue of the group exceeded 600 € mln in 2006.
The goal of this transaction is the synergy effect, which will be ensured by production of the major volume of nickel, vanadium, ferromolybdenum, ferrotungsten, pig iron and chrome consumed by SSG at the plants of Industrial Metallurgical Holding.
The purchase of this asset is a part of strategy of the Holding aimed at increase of the level of conversion of its products.
The total amount of the transaction is more than €300 mln.
The managing company of Industrial Metallurgical Holding was founded in 2002. A number of metallurgical, coke and chemical and coal-mining Russian companies are incorporated in the holding. The largest of them are Tulachermet (Tula Ferrous Metallurgy Enterprise) - one of the leading enterprises of the Russian ferrous metallurgy, and JSC “Koks” - one of the major producers of coke in Russia.
