In the first half of 2011, extraction of bauxites by Rusal enterprises integrated grew by 22.8% reaching 6.617 million tons. Rusal press release states that, the growth has been mainly achieved due to Windalco Ewarton (Jamaica), BCGI (Guyana) and North-Ural Bauxite Mine (Russia). During the 1st six months of 2011 alumina production grew by 8% to 4.025 million tons, primarily due to higher output at Windalco Ewarton (Jamaica).
