Metalloinvest supplied rolled steel for Victory bridge
Ural Steel (part of Metalloinvest) has supplied complete package of rolled steel for the construction of the Victory bridge over the Nadym River, which connected the Yamal Peninsula with Central Russia and the Urals.

The bridge, which was officially opened in September 2015, consists of 12 decks. It measures 10 metres wide, 1,334 metres long, and 3.1 kilometres long including the approach sections. Ural Steel supplied 7,500 tonnes of rolled steel for the construction of the Victory bridge. A noteworthy feature of the bridge is its combination of the highway and railway sections. The highway section with a design capacity of 3,000 cars per day has been launched already. There are also plans to lay railway tracks in the future.

The bridge over the Nadym River is a key part of the Northern Latitudinal Railway project, which envisages the construction of a network of highways and railways amounting to over 700 kilometres, which will create a permanent link between Yamal and the mainland and will connect the Northern and Sverdlovsk Railways.

Metalloinvest is the largest manufacturer and supplier of high-quality steel for the Russian bridge construction industry. In recent years, many iconic structures in Russia have been built using steel from Ural Steel, confirming the high quality of the Company’s products and reliability of supplies. In addition to the bridge over the Nadym River, Metalloinvest has also supplied steel for the construction of a bridge over the Vakh River in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area measuring 1 kilometer long, a bridge over the Oka River in Nizhny Novgorod with a total length of 895 metres, a bridge to Russky Island in Vladivostok measuring 3.1 kilometres long, and the Burginsky Bridge in Novosibirsk with a total length of over 2 kilometres. The Company also supplied steel for the construction of Sochi Olympic facilities (Fischt Olympic Stadium, among others), as well as the Otkritie Arena, the home stadium of Spartak Moscow football club.
